Daily favorite pastime...

I have been meaning to share this with you everyday when I am out doing it, but then by the time I get home and get everything put away and what have you... I forget. So here it is; Everyday, when I go out to hunt and gather for supper, I love to walk along the way, smiling HUGE at every old deutsche Oma und Opa - to see how many I can get to smile back :o) It is a lot of fun! They usually try to look down before you see they are looking at you, but you know they are, so you have to quickly look over and flash a big grin before they look away. Sometimes I get a big surprised smile, sometimes a small "Oh my goodness" smile, and sometimes a shocked quick look away, only to peek back. They smile back, you keep smiling and look away, but you know they are totally staring at you because they are shocked speechless at the fact that you actually looked at them, and smiled - a total stranger, so they keep staring, out of shock I am sure, or to see what is wrong with you. What a hoot! I love it!! Hours of entertainment.

Do you remember when we lived in the hotel and you were in grade 12 in Calgary. You were walking to school and smiled at some old lady and she yelled back at you, "What are you smiling at? You'll be old some day too!" Now that is a hoot.
