When we first arrived, we weren’t quite sure what we thought – hmmm, kinda dump-ish… I think that’s just because of the hotel we are staying in; dump.

Once we got out and wandered around, off to the old historic areas, we were much more impressed. The views here are beautiful.

The best part is that there is sunshine! Ah sunshine, my friend.
Gena + sunshine = happy girl

The other thing that is cool is that they seem to like cats on this island.
This was the first kitty spot we saw.
Can you read the sign? It says “Kitty Café”

The next one was this one.
There were stuffies all over the place with kitties sleeping on them!
Cute!!!

Sunshine, kitties, and gardens here and there - the place is getting better by the hour :o)

We went to Mdina today. It’s a little walled town within the “new city”. Some of the aristocratic families of Malta still occupy their ancestral homes there; this caused the preserving of a number of old 14th and 15th century houses and palaces.
This is also the old town area where Luke and Paul (of the bible) were shipwrecked and kept prisoner in local caves for three months.

Much to James horror, we hopped on a “looser train” and took a quick tour around the old city.

He said he will have to break-up with his girlfriend now, because she said she could never go out with a looser…and now he is a looser.

We "found him" pouting in a tree after the ride.

Once we got him out of the tree, he figured he would buy himself a little
something to prevent that from ever happening again.

Dean was none too impressed, and sent him for a good old-fashioned time out!

They are both happy again; nothing a trip to the Malta Hard Rock Café couldn’t fix.

You know Dean; we had to eat at the local Indian restaurant…of course. It was good, except for the Bollywood video and music playing during the whole meal – that got old very fast! I think we have eaten at an Indian restaurant in basically every city/country we have been to.

Would we come back? Yes, I think so, but we sure would not stay in this hotel!! What a dump! Can you say customer service? They sure can’t.
Warning, don’t ever stay in the Hotel Kennedy Nova in Malta!
Right now I am sitting in a really nice hotel lobby (one block down from our dive), blogging, enjoying a decaf late, listening to Christmas music.
Only thing missing this Christmas is my baby girl.

What a totally cool sounding place! It caters to kitties - what is there to not like about that. How neat! Sounds really good. I am looking forward to getting out of our snowy cold cold cold world and into Arizona. It is only temperate there at 10 degrees but that is significantly warmer than here. Have a great Christmas!
