Weifen's Wedding, Day Two

Upon arriving at Weifen's place the day of her wedding, there was a beautiful archway being constructed with live flowers, the most of which were roses; it was beautiful, and smelled heavenly!

Now to go inside:

←  In Weifen's room, her bed at one point was covered in 24k gold wedding gifts, mostly 2packs of wide bracelets, (no, those are not earrings). These will all be "put into the safe, never to be used again".  Hmm, shame.

Then her bed was covered in her beautiful western wedding gown, awaiting the evening of her soon to be husband's family's reception.  →

More importantly, just off to the side was the beautiful bride, getting fluffed and primped for her upcoming performance (her words 😊).

Meanwhile, just outside the security gate, the groom and his entourage were shouting "Bring me the bride" - to which the 8 bridesmaids responded:
↓↓↓  "No money, no bride!"  ↓↓↓
The boys had to hand over the right amount of money, then the gate was opened so they could come in - and play some games; to raise more money!

When "enough money" was gathered, Jimmy was permitted to go retrieve his bride from her room.

(oops, I was caught peeking in the room... busted)       ⇨

Time to move downstairs for the "Tea Ceremony" - the wedding.

This is Weifen's traditional, golden thread, hand embroidered Chinese wedding gown; absolutely stunning! πŸ’•

Once Jimmy has retrieved his bride from her room, they proceed downstairs to tie the knot.

The ceremony takes place in Weifen and her parents home, beginning with prayer and a holy communion together.

Weifen's parents then adorn Weifen with a few of the many bracelets, and her father puts a couple of large chain necklaces on Jimmy.

Then the officiant holds up a couple  of the strings of bracelets (you see only one!) and says a few words - no idea what she said...
(it's all Chinese to me).

One of my favourite photos -  ♥♥♥
I feel it says everything that needs saying...
More prayer, words exchanged, tea offered, and then ta-da: Mr. & Mrs. ... Jimmy!  😁

Now out the door, into the waiting wedding car, and off to their new home, (to Jimmy's home, with his parents).

First thing I saw when we arrived at Jimmy's place was a drone, or two or three! Must get some footage for the video to be shown at the reception that evening for Jimmy and his family's side of the wedding.

But first, we must go in and see Weifen's new home.

They have the whole upper floor of the house, with a nice room, large great room/entertaining area and a very large patio. Quite lovely.

But,
the best thing!  :

They have their own guard-dragon, on their balcony just outside their patio doors!  😻

I want a guard-dragon too please..!

And now:

           Off to The Ball!

Is that Cinderelly?

🎼🎢 "She goes around in circles 'til she's very very dizzy,  ... 🎢  We can do it, we can do it, we can help our Cinderelly, we can make her dress so pretty, there's nothin' to it, really.   πŸŽΆπŸŽΆ  Hurry, hurry, hurry, got no time to dilly-dally, we gotta get a goin' Cinderelly Cinderelly..." 🎢🎢

Now for her, not Chinese traditional,
Western wedding dress -
Beautiful!!  ❤❤
Wow.

The ball, which took place in a "restaurant" that looked suspiciously like a large ball/conference room, set up for those 1400 of Jimmy's family and closest friends.  πŸ˜„
Was very elegant.

This table, (closest to the stage) was, of course, the best table in the room!  πŸ˜‰   It was so wonderful to see, and do a bit of catch up, with some of our ISS, (Singapore) students! ♡♡♡

Mahatma Gandhi once said:

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated."

Some dishes I did not participate in, take pictures of, nor did I appreciate them.. I did however greatly appreciate that Weifen arranged for our table to be passed by with one specific dish on more than one occasion!  Thank you Weifen. πŸ˜™

Her dress truly was princess like - front and back!

That was the conclusion of the groom side wedding day; tomorrow, day three, will be the bride side wedding day.

(more lobster? *sigh such a hardship)   πŸ˜Ή
