We went to Dresden, by train, for the weekend - I was excited like a little kid before Christmas! I just really like that town, don't know why, just do.
While the band was playing, an older couple decided to dance! They were soooo cute; dancing and singing along with the band. Oh-my-word, loved it!!
Also enjoyed watching the little train, you can see it in the video, with the kinders riding around and around. Just made me wish Elias was there so he could ride on it! Next time!!

In the afternoon, the plan was for Dean to go on the annual JYI Beer, Bike, Bar Hop. I didn't realize it was men only... so was rather disappointed when I discovered I was not going to be joining in the fun!
Oh well, whatev. Off he went.
So I just wandered around, enjoying all the old building structures and statues, remembering them from when we lived there.
The plan was for Dean to leave the group a bit early so we could go to Estancia restaurant for supper; one of our favorite restaurants in Dresden... that was the plan.
Plans change.
I had dinner by myself at Marché... *boo
Thought of Stephanie while going there, as well as while I was eating! She loved eating there when she and Lisa came to Dresden. Would have been fun to have her/them join me this time too.
I hate eating out by myself.
His party was complete with the kiddies candy cone, (pictured above) which the child going into school receives, as well as games, (which Freddie is demonstrating here!).
Because we were only there for a short time, and then had to leave, we missed most of the fun and games, but Freddie wanted to make sure we were part of some of it, so he made Dean and Robbie participate!
Hahaha
They were very good sports; they participated, and did exactly as Freddie asked them too... even after a night of far too much Beer, Bikes and Bars! FUN - for Freddie if no-one else >^_^< Hahaha, and me too actually; I enjoyed watching them, and chuckling right along with Fred!
Friedrich has done so well for himself! He has studied very hard, and in doing so has accomplished great things:
He finished university with High Honors in Aberdeen, Scotland, and when he finished, the school approached him to come work for them doing research type work, and he would receive his masters while doing this work - they would pay for that as well. Nice gig!
He's an awesome kid; I am proud of him, he has done well!
Way to go Freddie!!
This was the view from our hotel window. Not only did we enjoy looking at the old church, but it was wonderful listening to it too! I totally miss hearing the bells ring daily, as we did while living there. Nice.
We wandered over to the square, only to discover the Fall Market was set up! So we stopped for a cup of gluhwein to warm up, and listen to a band playing.

I accompanied them to the first bar or two, so I could have a wee visit with a couple of the teachers we knew while living there, (most have moved on) then after all their bikes were in good repair, (better than they were by this point, already) I went off to do some wandering by my lonesome.

On Sunday, before heading for the train to make our way back to Sprendlingen, (Dreieich), we stopped at Friedrich Schubert's - he was having a Zuchertüten party. This is typically a party held for children when they are beginning school, (kindergarten). However, Freddie being Freddie, he wanted to have a party to celebrate his getting a new job which will also accommodate his receiving his masters degree at the same time.
.... yea, he just wanted to have a party!

Sounds so wonderful
It's so nice, Fall in Dresden! I miss you and Dresden.
Thank you for the pictures.. Those photos are reminding me the days which we lived there. Did you remember that cold afternoon, I drank the Gluewein? ^^ . I also feel happy that you have settled well in Germany.
